The Leviton Decora Edge wiring devices line offers a new, easier-to-install, safer design that provides the classic appearance and superior performance of Leviton Decora devices. The new Decora Edge line includes single pole and 3-way switches and a tamper-resistant 15-amp duplex receptacle, all designed to save you time and effort during installation.
The Decora Edge line features several innovative installation benefits, including color-coded lever terminals for faster, efficient wiring. The ground terminal is also color-coded, making it easier to identify and connect. The larger strap has a unique tongue and groove alignment feature that allows for quicker trim out on multi-gang installations. This feature ensures that the devices are properly aligned and fit perfectly in the wall, even when multiple devices are installed side-by-side.
The Decora Edge line is also designed with safety in mind. There are no exposed metal parts, which eliminates the need for electrical tape and reduces the risk of electrical shock. The lever termination feature assures a positive connection has been made, and there’s an audible “click” when the lever door is closed, confirming that the connection is secure. This patent-pending design also has a snap feature that ensures a connection has been made, giving installers the confidence they need to know that the wiring is secure.
Another benefit of the Decora Edge line is that the lever connectors work with 14 gauge and 12 gauge stranded and solid copper wire. This means that you can use the same wiring for all of your devices, reducing the need for additional materials and saving you money. Wire openings sized to fit prevent wire insulation from being inserted into the terminals, ensuring that the wiring is secure and reducing the risk of electrical shorts.
